As a church, we believe
in a plurality of elders whose function is to teach, oversee, and shepherd the
church. Please see our statements for more information.
Here are our
elders:
Jon Kile,
Pastor: I was born in Portland, Oregon, and I grew up
in Tigard, Oregon. I came to know the love and grace of Christ at an early age,
and I knew from early on that God was calling me into some sort of full-time
ministry. I went to Bible College at Pacific Christian College in Fullerton,
California, where I met my wife Tiffany. After getting married and graduating
from Bible College, we moved to Johnson City, Tennessee to go to seminary at
Emmanuel School of Religion where I received my M. Div. degree. While in
seminary I preached part-time at a small country church, and then after
graduation I began full-time ministry which I have been doing since 1995. I
graduated from The Master's Seminary with a Doctorate of Ministry degree in May
2009. I have three wonderful daughters: Katie, Emily, and Allison. My two
passions are preaching God's wonderful Word and evangelism. I love the Lord with
my whole heart, and I look forward to serving Him at Faith Community Church for
many years to come.
John
Jordan: It is a blessing for my family to be involved
with the Worship Music Ministry at this church. We fully support Faith Community
Church and totally agree with its vision to be "deep" and "reaching". My wife
Denise, son John Ross, daughter Danielle, and myself are excited to a part of
this work. I am the General Manager for a road construction company called
Western Stabilization. Previously, my family was involved at Grace Fellowship
Church in Dixon California, I served in many ministries there: Music Director -
8 years, Deacon Board - 3 years, Elder Board 5 years, Adult Sunday School
Teacher - 8 years, Home Bible Study Leader - 6 years, and filled in the Pulpit
3-4 times annually - 8 years.
Carl
Smith: I came to know Christ as a teenager in 1973
and attended Tennessee Temple University (B.A. in Theology, 1981). I served as a
missionary pastor from 1982 to 1989 and then felt called to teaching. I received
my California credential from National University in 1990. Since 1992 I have
been teaching and coaching golf. I have also served as youth pastor and elder at
Grace Fellowship of Dixon from 1995 through 2000. Since 2002 when FCC first
started, my wife Christine and I have been leading and hosting a Faith Group
(home Bible study). I feel very privileged to be among the elders serving at
Faith Community Church and I am very excited about where God is leading
us.
Tony
Shipp: I was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA,
where I went to high school and attended my first four years of college. I later
graduated from California State University of Sacramento. In 1973 while
attending California State University of Long Beach, God revealed to me my own
reprobate heart and convinced me that I was in need of salvation. God opened my
heart and my eyes that night and brought me into His royal family. In 1981 while
serving in the U.S. Air Force, at Travis AFB in California I met and married my
wonderful wife, Carolyn, and we now have three wonderful adult children, Chanda,
Crystal and Joshua. When I left the U.S. Air Force I became a police officer,
where I worked for the next 26 1/2 years. During many of those years I attended
Sovereign Grace Baptist Church of Vacaville, and served as a deacon for
approximately 20 years. While there I was blessed with the opportunity to preach
and teach God's word. In 2001 Sovereign Grace Baptist Church was forced to close
its doors and in 2002 my family and I joined Faith Community Church of
Vacaville. In 2006 God called me into the ministry to assist with His work at
Faith Community Church.
David
Truesdell: What could be better? As youth pastor, I
am able to serve the Lord and work with an amazing group of teens. Ever since I
can remember, I have been working with youth. After graduating from college, I
spent thirteen years teaching in the public school system. In 2005, while
already attending FCC, I felt God call me to make a change and take my love for
Him and passion for youth to be part of the staff at Faith Community as the
youth pastor. What a blessing it is to be able to teach and mentor, but to do it
for the purpose of spreading the Gospel and the edifying of the
saints.
